The Ecumenical Jury of SIGNIS and INTERFILM awards its main prize to the long feature film in competition

Poet of the Wastes, by Mohammed Ahmady, Iran 2005

This film tells the story of a street-sweeper who dreams to become a poet. He lives in very poor and desperate circumstances, but it does not ruin his dream. The difficulties of his everyday life do not influence his inner world and he manages to love people, to enjoy every moment of his life and to continue dreaming. This poor man manages to keep his human dignity and love towards people and life itself in any circumstance.
The jury found the message of this film very important for people who are trying today to survive in a modern society, full of problems and hard circumstances. The message is that each of us should go through this life keeping the human dignity and dream in his heart, loving people and life.

The Ecumenical Jury awards two Commendations to films in the short film competition, to

Puzzle, by Ersen Ersoy, Turkey 2005

It gives the message, that every person in this world is working for his or her piece of the puzzle, which is very important for the whole humanity. This short movie reflects equality between people, nations, religions and encourages to build together the world, in which we live.

and to

La clé des champs/A Key to Freedom, by Floriane Closuit, Switzerland 2005

This film tells about the problem between generations. This mis a story about girl teenager, who together with her mother and grandmothers visits great grandmother in a nourishing home. The visit is filled with tensions, guilty consciences and failed expectation of a teenager and great grandmother. At the end a girl and great grandmother unexpectedly understand each other. One of the main messages of this short movie ist that generations deeply need each other to be happy in this life.
