Church of Sweden Film Award to "Kid Svensk"/"That Special Summer" by Nanna Huolman

The Church of Sweden Award to best Nordic feature film 2007 goes to the Swedish director Nanna Huolman. "That Special Summer" is a Finnish-Swedish co-production that deals with issues of adolescence, looking for one's identity and the meaning of life. Motivation of the jury:

"A powerful and sentient childhood story set in 1980's Sweden, that has a strong resonance in the multiethnic reality of today."

The award was given out at the Göteborg International Film Festival, on February 3, 2007, by bishop Carl Axel Aurelius. The jury consisted of Anne-Louise Eriksson (Church of Sweden), Kim Skjoldager Nielsen (University of Copenhagen), Gunnar Bergdahl (film critic) and Mikael Ringlander (Church of Sweden).

"That Special Summer" is Nanna Huolmans feature film debut. She has previously worked with documentaries, art installations and short films.
