At the 28th International Warsaw Film Festival from 12-21 October 2012 the 3rd Ecumenical Jury of SIGNIS and INTERFILM has given its Prize to the film
Operación E by Miguel Courtois Paternina, Spain/France/Colombia 2012
Operation E dramatises the personal and social effects of the Columbian drug wars. Caught in the midst of the conflict, Crisanto and his family have to survive the drug dealing guerillas, a corrupt government and grinding poverty. This film shows the suffering of innocent people, and the compromises they have to make, in the face of the world’s evil. Crisanto’s fight for human rights, not chosen but imposed by the situation, is for the simplest and most important things in life: a stable family life, security, peace and basic human dignity.
