AWARD OF THE ECUMENICAL JURY

The Ecumenical Jury at the 22nd Film Festival Cottbus, appointed by INTERFILM and SIGNIS, awards its prize in the official competition to the film

Sushenya, a young Belarussian family man, is declared as traitor. His comrades fighting as partisans against the German army nevertheless want to execute him. With a sensitive staging and convincing performances of the actors the director manages to address universal questions of people in the situation of war in a virtuoso way.
