New Film About Luther
At the film market in Cannes a new film about Martin Luther was introduced in a screening not open to the public. Financed by Lutheran Americans and the German EIKON with considerable means the film is directed by Eric Till who shot the remarkable biopic “Bonhoeffer – The Last Step” recently. Luther is performed by the American actor Joseph Fiennes who got famous through the principal part in Oscar winning “Shakespeare in Love”. The film is also starring Sir Peter Ustinov, Bruno Ganz and Matthieu Carrière. In considerable parts the production was shot on original locations. World premiere will be at the Toronto film festival, the German opening is provided for Reformation Day at the end of October. |
